Choosing field of expertise

In Strategies, humor on September 21, 2008 at 8:37 pm

Admittedly the previous title was an experiment to catch visitors. Completely wasted of course. Some bozos had got around to writing all the unwanted stuff about why people blog. Under the same title I chose! So google thinks I am one of them and takes my really wanted stuff to the last page.

So banning attempts to catch attention, (yeah yeah them grapes are always sour, I know!) I will talk about this guy I know. I am naming him K. K knows all there is to know about one topic, ok lets say cows. I can see my future jeopardized by that line, but K, look at the next line. When K knows about cows, he really knows about cows. I mean he knows everything there is to know about cows.

Now that’s something really admirable. There are people who know things, but people who know everything there is to know about certain things, especially when it doesn’t come as a part of their professional or personal life are, great (not perhaps the exact word here, but title of blog excuses me from not knowing it) people. I have decided to be great people. So I am going to list a few things I could expertise on

- cows : already taken by K, so abandoned)
- rest of animals : already taken by Tom Regan and Menaka Gandhi, so abandoned)
- sun : too vast
- plants : duh!
- humans … interesting, but too vast. So dividing
- (1) human psychology : interesting. Will consider
- (2) philosophy : ahh, getting better
- ok enough of that. Sports : too complicated
- media : over populated
- geography : kept for later part of life when I will be roaming the world
- bananas : bad smell
- rest of fruits and vegetables : bad taste (just like ‘em grapes)
- food : too fat
- women : too complicated
- men : too simple
- astronomy : for after death, when I will be roaming the outer space.

Think I am running out of things. So I have short-listed human psychology and philosophy. They both have a lot of scope for creativity. Cause you can always make your own conclusions. You don’t have to read or listen to anyone. I like that.
But friend K has a problem. He remembers everything he ever read right from grade 1. So he cant possibly have room for creativity. Hah now who has scored?

Future posts may make an attempt to bring those creative ideas born in not-so-stupid’s head. And that wasnt a warning!

What do people blog about?

In Blogging on September 19, 2008 at 8:30 pm

Started the blog when the url was found available. Havent yet figured out what actually goes here. From the different blogs I read, I think these are what people generally blog about

  • personal : seen most often, what they think and how they think, how they react. Nice.
  • technical: obvious from the title, absolute rot! Ok, to be fair, some people actually write technology
  • Philosophical: Many disguise boring lectures under this tag, and brag! Hmph some know-it-alls!
  • Fiction: I like these folks, they are harmless, mind their own business types
  • Trying to make money blogging: Dont like them! Cause they can do what I cant! And I wont agree thats pure and basic envy!
  • Hobbies: Some draw cartoons, some give recipes, some talk about gardening (yech! ok shoot me, I am insensitive!)
  • Humor: Very rare, those who completely dedicate to humor. I love these guys, they are so selfless all they want in life is to make others laugh.
  • News, reporting, opinions about the big things: Blah! (I have subscribed to quite a number of ‘em, so it entitles me to say that!)
  • Accounts: some of travelling, some of cultures, places. Quite educative. Boring, but harmless guys.
  • Women: Call ‘em feminists, or whatever. There are a number of women bloggers talking about women, about their own lives, about injustice, issues whatever. Opinion about this: Goes above my head, remember the title of this blog?

Not sure if I covered all. If anyone accidentally fall up on this blog, feel free to add more. So I might have an idea what I should really write here!
